All feeling a little rough, except Bex who managed to wake up so early again. The rest of us had a lay in until about eleven. We kicked Bex out the room to have coffee so the rest of us could sleep. Bex then managed to come back then get in the shower. It was late when we decided to head to the IHOP (international House of Pancakes) the food. The food was ok, why are all the meals in the states so massive on a hangover you really don't want to eat loads.
It's now early afternoon and we decided to stay and chill around the pool. Chris jumped in and spent about 2 minutes in the cold water, I eventually went into the water after rescuing the 2 wasps that were floating in the water, but I managed to stay in for 20 minutes. It was nice to have a relaxed afternoon. I suggested that we headed to Santa Monica for the sunset. Everyone agreed. It was late afternoon when everyone was getting showered and cleaned up for the evening. The drive seemed to take longer today, and we were racing the sun. We pulled into the car park looking over the beach just as the sun was about to touch the horizon. We all ran out and took some picture. This is when the funniest thing happened, the girls wanted a picture together with the setting sun in the back ground. The Sand was now freezing cold, and Abi wouldn't walk on it, so Bex willingly offered a piggyback. Except within 10 seconds she had lost her footing and tumbled with Abi still on her back into the sand!! I took Bex a while to stop laughing, then finally she get up and brushed off the sand! That covered her! We could have Only been at the beach 10 minutes before the sun fully disappeared. It was a beautiful sunset.
We all jumped back into the car and drove a little closer to the pier, it was a lot cooler tonight, it was really nice walking along the beach and up the pier. It was a lot quieter than the other day we had been in Santa Monica.
We walked to the end of the pier and them settled on a place to have some dinner. The food was really good. I also learnt that the Santa Monica pier is the final stop / place for he Route 66. It was crazy thinking that in 5 weeks we would be back here! Standing on this pier. We had a quiet night when we got back to the hotel chilled and then went to bed.
