My last day in Singapore, as well as my last day in Asia. I have enjoyed my time so much I'm a little sad to be leaving tonight. Putting that to one side, I wanted to be able to enjoy my day. Plus if I had a busy day before my flight. Fingers crossed I'll sleep most of the journey. I showered got a map and head off. Upgraded my travel card for another day, and got the MRT to the harbour front. Crossed over to Sentosa as I wanted to do the cable car ride. It would take me up to Mount Faber. There were amazing views over looking the city and Sentosa. I got some pretty good pictures. I have been here before but it looks so much different. A lot more modern. I wasn't there long before returning the way I came. I got a free cup of tea which I drank.. (still not a fan!).
Walking through the MRT station I decided that I wanted to go to the top of the marina bay sands, whizzing across the different underground lines I arrived at the marina bay sands hotel. It looked so impressive standing at the bottom looking up. It was 56 stories high, and you can only view one side of the ship that's dumped on top of the 3 buildings linking them together. This building seems do dominate the sky line. I got loads of pictures. It was a good birds eye view of all the stuff that I have done over the last week or so I have spent in the city. I then headed over to orchard to see if I could find the A&F store. I did, but it was so expensive. But I didn't leave before squirting the after shave all over! I walked across the road and had a walk around H&M got a few bits! These prices are more like home. Singapore has all the UK high street shops, top man, new look and even M&S. I got back onto the MRT and retuned to the River City Inn. Chilled, and used the Internet. I managed to have a shower and then made sure I had everything before going to the airport.
I had tried to check in online, but for some reason the Qantas website wouldn't let me. So I just did it all when I arrived at the airport. I was given seat 54E which is the centre 4, in the middle. A really s*** seat. But when I got to the gate, I asked them to change it- I was given an aisle seat towards the back, but the seat next to me was empty! The time at the airport went really quick. I was coming to the end of book two of the hunger games, so I wanted to finish it. (I looked to get the 3rd book, but its £12) The aircraft boarded and departed on time. It was only a 6hr 20min flight. And a 2 hour time change from Singapore. I watched War Horse, and then just listen to music, I really didn't sleep great, the empty seat next to me didn't help. The food was ok. I just tried to get my head down and sleep.... It was going to be a long night.
