After only a short time in Melaka it was time to set off to Singapore! We got taxi's to the main bus station in Melaka, and had to wait about 90 mintues before our bus left for Singapore. Of course this meant we had another boarder crossing to do. The bus jorney to the boarder was about 3 hours. This boarder was so different to the Thailand-Malaysia one cleaner, more modern and we were really quick. We had to be as well, because the public bus we were on wouldn't wait if you got held up. Then had to get in more taxi's to the new hotel, bencoolen hotel. It was nice, but outside they are building a new subway station, and it was loud. The work would be continuing until 2017!! We all went for lunch, if you guessed a food court, you would be correct! It would be the last food court we eat at as part of the tour. I stuck with noodles and pork. Managed to hack onto someone's wifi. It's easy when most of Asia use 0123456789 as their password! Most people that were only doing the tour would only have this afternoon and tomorrow until their flight leaves to explore this massive city. However I am here for at least 5 days, so I'm able to relax a bit. When I say relax I mean after lunch I climbed back into bed, and slept most of the afternoon.
Before the group met up for our farewell dinner on the Quay, we wanted to go to The Long Bar, at Raffles Hotel to have a real Singapore Sling, the place where they were invented! It was pretty expensive, but stong. I had dressed up and was wearing trousers which made me so hot. To find out we didnt need to wear them. However we also wanted to go up to the bar at one raffles place, it's a huge skyscraper thats close to where we are eating! Dinner was on the river side, and honestly, it was bloody expensive for what we had and not that great. After dinner, we went to go up the skyscrapper bar, but we're unable to go up, as some people were not dressed correctly. Walked to the other side of the Quay to Timbre a place that had live music, had a round, I was so tempted to have another bucket of beer, but decided against it. The music was pretty good, and it was time to head back. Said goodbye to Jo, as she was heading to the airport for an early morning flight, and would see everyone else tomorrow at check out.
