Another day has dawned in Cusco, greatfully, luckily we didnt get washed away again.
I am taking a well deserved morning off this morning, got back last night pooped. No time to do emails catch up etc, so here i am. Spoke to Nicky yesterday, and she had a happy birthday so that was great. Who would have thought 35 years later I was going to be travelling South America. Caught up with Gary this morning all good there so rucksack out ready to backpack across a continent I never thought was possible for me. ( Is it a continent ? )
See paragraph that says yesterday wash out, as its all muddled. Oh well. x
Life has been full on here with Spanish, cooking, Salsa, darts (champion) pool & of course work. The only thing that I seem to shine in is darts so I may have a new hoby when I get back, after the beer belly. !!!
As for some of your questions there is many fruits here and Veggies that we dont get at home. Must admit not tryed many as you buy them in Market or street traders and my stomach means more to me. Although now Real Mccoys has opened I dont have to eat Omlettes all the time anymore. Will be putting that half stone back on. Food is great there clean & can have salads plus jacket spuds.
There are hundreds of variety of potatoes here, not all good apparently & they eat them with everything even rice or pasta, but they never look like they have had mud removed half the time. Let alone bake them. So eating at Mccoys is a must, the other good side to that is when I give out leaflets on my walking to work etc to tourists I get free meal a day. So now Im defiently becoming a local as you can see by the picture.
At cookery we all help prepare and cook local food, it is held at Spainish school so it is a good meeting place for everyone. Cant say I rave about it that much as its all very carbohydrates, but have managed to wing the cookery book of John the owner so maybe I will cook you a Peruvian meal when home.
This Saturday off Mountain biking around a place called Moray, ( Inka ruins) so I am busy hunting for a spare oxygen bottle. I got to be nuts as there is not a space without a hill or mountain, but hopefully will let you no on Monday. As on Sunday we are meant to be Squad biking, then you take a dive in a pool to get the mud off !!! Not fancying the pool much how many before us have plunged to get there Mud off.So no doubt you will be interested as I am to no the outcome. Its not booked yet so we will see ,bit manana here. I never believe till its booked now.
Well my morning is running out and I have Spanish in an hour, Orphanage then Salsa so another hectic afternoon.
Have I told you I am also busy making necklaces and purses out of paper, just another hidden talent. Guess what you be getting for Xmas and birthdays.
Keep well my friends and I hope to be able to sit here and post you my news on monday.Forgot to say which Im sure you are all aware the Earthquake in Chile hasnt affected us, but terrible for those poor people. What is happening in the world, maybe we are building up to 21st December 2012. Be safe. xxxxxxxxx
This next bit has come up in the wrong place, i ryed to delete something and it went wrong. Keyboard in Spanish
Yesterday was a bit of a wash out,(hissing down !) turned up at 8.00 as arranged finally left about 9.30 after loading the bread. But there was a hitch driver needed some paperwork which we drove around Cusco trying to get, it was 11.30 when I decide to walk back and get ready for Orphanage. As there was no way I was going to be backin time, plus 4 of us stuck in the front seat for the last 2 hours going no where was not something Irelished for the next 6 hours. They are going daily until end March so I will try again.

Jackie Well never a dull moment for you!! I have booked you a stall in Charlotte St market to sell all these things you are making. What do you mean 35 years on, I would have put money on the fact you would be doing something very interesting, not sitting at home with your feet up knitting...actually that is what I am doing tonight!! Pleased you have found a safe house to eat. Same about the bun run but I am sure you will make it another day. Take care Lol x
