Well folks, its Saturday morning here. Missed Friday somehow with Spanish lesson and going to work in the safe house the day just dissapeared.
I have a bit of a blank on the Spanish and am hoping that I will get up one day and it will have just clicked, I just go blank when i look at people.
Safehouse was a bit of a disaster as the governor there seemed to not be cooperating with us yesterday, some of these places are amazing you are offering your help for free and they are quite rude. I will go back Monday afternoon but might go and look at another orphange, for although the girls need help no point if it feels uncomfortable, so we will see.
I have my other placement two mornings next week which will be 5 days by March, I really enjoy that, the children are so sweet. So need to decide what I am going to do with them Monday, have the weekend to prepare.
Little bit about Cusco, weather is very changeable at the moment, it can be hot and sunny then pouring with rain and freezing so it means going out with all assortment of clothes. The square is the big meeting place which gets really busy, it is a real tourist attraction & has a great feeling. It can also be annoying as like most places has its sellers out bothering you with all sorts of wares.
Yesterday I was surrounded by about 6 kids all trying to sell ,please missus we not eat if you dont bye !! You do feel awful but we all no you cant keep buying. They are really sweet and sit chatting, trying to learn English. I look like the pied piper. !! At night you see people asleep in doorways with children, but then again all around are the more classy shops etc.
It is cheap to stay here, although not cheap if you live because of wages. You get 5 sol approx to the pound. Taxis around city are around 3 sol, and you can eat for as cheap as 10sol for a decent meal. Although I usually spend about 20 sol yesterday I had a large beer Huge sandwhich chips for that at Paddys bar, it was great.
Hopefully after the weekend I can add the pictures from the festival at Puno, costumes amazing. I belive there is a festival here tommorow also. When I sellect my blog you have to load a photo so thats why you see the same ones twice, as using different computor.
Have a great weekend, speak to you next week. xx

Jackie I just echo everone else in saying i really look forward to reading your blog, it is so amazing all you are doing. What is wrong with those people at the safe house, you get strange people everwhere then. Poor you feeling grotty and having parasites as pets you don't need that. Hope the medicine works ok and keeps you healthy. All the info you are writing is going to help people planning trips to Peru, so keep writing everything down. How is your skin does it go dry with altitude? It is so cold here and would you believe they are forcasting more snow next week, we are going up to Mersyside as its half term, so fingers crossed the roads are ok. You take care of yourself, lots of love. xx
