hey guys, not alot different at work this week, mainly doing the same jobs although im managing to talk to all the girls alot more. Srey Pol took us out to dinner at a place called boat noodle which is mainly khmer customers and so was very cheap but very nice. Saturday Charlotte and I spent most of the day shopping although ended up at the posh end of town feeling the need to spend....but most were too expensive. In the afternoon i went to O Russei market with Kim Tha and Thai ly to see where they buy all their silk and beads, which was really nice. They then treated me to dinner in Soriya shopping centre which was very kind as they cant really afford it. In the evening we went to our landlady's son's 18th birthday party, they're very rich so it was quite posh but traditional all the same. They were so pleased we came and helped us join in with everything. there were lots of very important people there - his fathers a govenor of a local province. Once he'd blown out his candles everyone spreys silly string all over him and lights sparklers. Very surreal experience to see them doing that in Cambodia. today we visited the national museum, was really good, but everything was described in khmei and once youve seen one statue of buddha you've seen them all.
hoping to go to Kratie next week and see the irrawadi dolphins, so will probably up date you then. ive managed at last to get some more photos uploaded.
