Im here and absolutely loving it!!very hot although is the rainy season and extremely sticky!
The plane ride was definitely an experience, all the women wore traditional thai dress and were so beautiful and very friendly, they constantly offered drinks and snacks and came round with hot flannels to freshen up, we could learn a lot from them!!!
We are staying in a place called the Boddhi Tree at the moment which is gorgeous and the people are so friendly, we have already made friends with some moto and tuc tuc drivers which will be taking us to work starting from monday. The food is delicious, fresh fruit with yoghurt, honey and pancakes for breakfast is definitely something I could get used to!!!(and so far no dodgy stomach lol!)
This morning we made a visit to a Wat to give offerings and pray in front of the monks because it is their last day of the festival to celebrate their dead ancestors, which was totally amazing!Everyone really helped us to join in and made us feel very comfortable being a part of their religion. They believe by offering to their ancestors will give them a better life and also release them to paradise!
On a complete contrast we went to the Killing fields later on which was quite upsetting and you just cant ever imagine something like that actually happening. Hearing about how they used to torture their victims and seeing all the thousands of skulls, there were also still bones and clothes out the top of the ground which was really horrible to see.The journey out there was beautiful though and gave you a real idea to how they live!
Anyway about to go back now for dinner so will update you again soon
love you all
