The aperitif hour is quite a tradition here in France and one we have thoroughly enjoyed getting into the habit of doing!
In Paris, Sophie started us off with champagne, in Bretagne Alain and Claude introduced us to a cherry and pigment aperitif which was very nice and so it has continued. I've discovered a rather nice rose from Andjou (only 3 euro a bottle) and Jonathan has been trying all sorts of reds. I must admit he is buying some rather dodgy wines as he has no idea what he is buying and he thinks he can get good ones for 1 euro, my limit is 4 - 5 euro!
Quitterie introduced us to some interesting although rather potent Sauternes and we bought a bottle of Deutz champagne (the French Maison of Deutz not the kiwi one) for Jean Marc which was very nice with it's very fine bubbles. In Rocamadour I finally got to have my favourite Kir, a black currant liqueur mixed with dry white wine and while we are indulging the kids are enjoying their Orangina. I must admit though they are enjoying their own wine tasting tour as they have a wee try of Mum and Dad's wine on occasion!
We are so going to need to dry out when we get home!

Mum amd Dad Lovely to hear from you and be back in touch, You do seem to be having a wonderful time. We've been quite adventurous too - 1 new car and booked a week in Fiji for the end of July! Dad - Anjou rose is nice. Tavel rose is said to be the best! Lots of love
