Another five hour drive south east towards Provence and really our last destination before returning to Paris and home. I can't believe how fast time has sped by and although I could continue travelling through France for much longer I am aware that both Sophie and Brodie are a little homesick and are hankering for some chill time. Our next destination will be just that as we have rented a five bedroom house with swimming pool in the country to share with arroz, Jat and the children.
We took the most direct route to Chevalier Blanc, just next to Cavaillon, so lots of motorways where Jonny can enjoy driving at 130km/hr! It is definitely the way to travel as there seem to be a village every five minutes when travelling on the country roads. It is well worth paying the toll fees just to make the journey shorter.
We stopped in Rodez for an early lunch, definitely a town that was bombed in the war as really only the cathedral is left amongst some very ugly post war buildings. It is great to follow the map and see all the familiar place names such as Montpelier, Nimes and Arles.
Our house is Amazing! An old farm house and barns converted into the most amazing house with a huge lawn and gardens and the best swimming pool! We are all in heaven. Sophie and Brodie are loving having their cousins Mia, Kiyana and Lola to play with and have spent the entire day in the pool! Feeling a little sunburnt this evening unfortunately but they had such fun!
I have finally been for my first run for the holiday, better late than never. Ros, her friend Libby and I ran about 6km this morning so a good effort considering I haven't exercised since leaving NZ. I'll have to do some catching up when I get home, especially after having eaten so much cheese and bread!
As well as it having been hot and sunny today it has been incredibly windy which has not been great for headaches. It's supposed to be the same tomorrow but die down on Monday. Plans tomorrow are to finally suss out a couple of Marche de puces and brocantes ie. op shopping markets - girls only morning and then returning home for lunch so we can explore some of the area in the morning with the boys. I'm looking forward to finding myself some little treasures :) ...
