There are so many temples to see over a 5 mile radius. You can pay a fortune for a guide and air con car, rent a bicycle and sweat like a black man at a Kkk convention or (the sensible option) rent a little off road bike.
The bike did is really well. We saw all the main temples and only got lost 3/4 times.
To end the day we took a tiny ferry across the river and went to see the highest temple in Hampi. Not much of a temple but the view was breath taking. The 572 high steps in 35 degrees, intense sunlight also took my breath away more than once.
Monkeys everywhere.......they really love polos! One attacked me to get a couple more! Tilly almost fell over laughing.
