Tilly is I'll, so I leave her at the 5 star hotel I book for her to recover and go off exploring. I spend the day visiting the old temples at Belur and Halebid. They are apparently the best examples of detailed Muslim craftsmanship and don't disappoint. I take local buses to get around and go to a local restaurant for a very good thali. All in I spend maybe £3 getting a whole day out with food and 40km of travel....only in India.

I feel a real calmness passover me. I'm lay in my too short a bed (Indian men are typically small), in a train running very late, it's 11pm, I can smell the toilets, I'm being bitten to death and have been stared at all day (not many tourists brave both the sleeper class or this part of India). I love it. I feel so relaxed, there are some really nice people here as well. Everyone wants to say hello, parents introduce their children to us, all in all a nice trip...
