We get up early and go to raj ghat (where Gandhi was burned) which is a poignant park with a large structure around the funeral pyer. We decide to walk the 1km to the jama masjid. This is a pic of the window on our second hotel- looks out onto a corridor. There might not have hot water, have a western toilet or smell very nice at all......but at least the huge cockroaches moved over when I climbed into be and it's a million times better than the first place we went too! Lol
So, we get off the plane in Delhi and book a taxi to our hostel. The taxi is a 1970's beauty. Tilly wants one. But the roads are terrifying. Cars just drive where they want to, wrong side of the road is the norm! They honk their horns constantly and they only use indicators when clicked on accidentally, then just leave them on for fun. I will never complain about british driving again. I cant concentrate as there is so much to look at, hundreds of half finished...
