Did not do much today, just got up and went for a dander with John to get some breakfast. I got some rice, pâté, egg and sauce thing. You get a spoon to eat it with. You should have seen John trying to use the spoon. It was like me when I first tried to use chop sticks. He said he hardly ever uses a spoon, and it showed, he was holding it funny and everything, took him an eternity to eat his breakfast. When I say breakfast, it was more like lunch, it was about 1pm by the time we got up and headed out.

John is away today on the open bus ticket, so he has to be back by 5 to get his bus. We dander round for another short while before heading back to the hostel. It's so hot outside, and I'm not convinced that the AC in our room I working, I wake up regularly throughout the night, sweating, I don't even sleep with covers, just lying on the bed. In the hostel the room you can sit in has a couple of fans and so it is cooler than the dorm, so we sit there. Just chatting to the girls who work here. They are very friendly and helpful, always smiling and speak good English.

Get chatting to a Japanese girl in the dorm, Yoshi. Who has been travelling for a year. After John heads on his way I go out for something to eat with Yoshi and Ray, we head to a relatively expensive place, in Vietnamese standards, but get some lovely spring rolls and some rice. Then it's on to the bia hoi! In the street, from bar to bar. We head back to the live music bar, in case Abdullah is there playing a set, he isn't, so back to the street. About 11 the police turn up and start shouting at the bars, from what I can gather you are not allowed to drink in the street. All these bars have the little tables and chairs all over the street. When the police come it is like a frantic game of stacking. All the people jump up quickly and the bar staff stack all the chairs on top of each other super quick, then run inside as everyone scuppers off the street before the police come. Then once the police move on, back out come the chairs, very bizarre. We head home after from some well deserved sleep.
