We don't get up too early after last night's drinking, just allow ourselves to wake up naturally, love it. We head back in to town to take a look around. This place reminds me a lot of Hoi An, in the fact that it is quaint and has the river running through it, it is all decorated for Chinese New Year as well and so there is a good atmosphere about the place. We stop along the river and have breakfast, some local delicacy, that wasn't that tasty, but served it purpose in keeping me satisfied. We then head to the shopping centre as I still have some small sliver of hope that I may be able to procure myself a new bag. Again I am disappointed in the complete lack of reputable brands in the shops. I think it is the case that the back packer lifestyle is not too popular in Malaysia, perhaps I should have thought about buying my bag while I was in Bangkok.

Lunch time calls for some Chinese tea and so we head to one of the old tea houses for the true experience. It was a lovely little building and it was great to see the way the tea is prepared, the traditional way. Much more of an art to it than just chucking a tea bag in a cup and pouring some water in. We are also in luck today, because the little courtyard in the centre of the tea house is being used for some sort of wedding photo shoot. So we are treated to the lion dance and various other traditional dress as well as some music. Nice. Not sure if they were really a married couple or just models, there was a couple of kiss scenes that looked more than awkward. The afternoon ebbs away as we enjoy our Chinese tea and light snacks before heading back to the hostel.

The hostel owner, Howard, is a bike enthusiast and the hostel is covered with various bikes mounted on the wall. He offers a free nightly bike ride where takes you around the town on his bikes and head out to some hawker stalls for dinner. Best of all, it's free. We are up for it. So it is the pair of us, a couple of Chinese and a Dutch woman who all head out. My bike could not be described as top notch, but I managed anyway. About a 15min ride and we got to the hawker area, that was a good bit out of town, and we were the only foreigners, perfect. There was a wide range of food, from Malay, Japanese and some western dishes. I try some 'stinky tofu' as Howard gets some and it was just as I expected, disgusting, though not as bad as it smells I have to say. After dinner and some chatting we bike it back to the hostel and watch a movie before bed. I like it here, it is nice and relaxed.
