Up early and down to the station for my 8am bus, that comes at 8.40. This bus is again super comfortable, but also super cold. Luckily I always pack the buff and a long sleeve t-shirt to cope in these situations. I arrive in Kuala Lumpur and come across my first bout of frustration. When I bought my bus ticket, I asked what station I got left at because I was heading to Melaka, I was told that it didn't matter what station because I could get a bus to Melaka from either station. This was simply not the case, as I discover. I get to the ticket floor and there are scores of people running around with walkie talkies asking people where they are going, looks efficient. It wasn't! I say Melaka and I am directed to a counter, when I get there and ask an Indian woman speaks to me so quickly I don't understand what she said. I ask her to repeat and still I don't understand. On the third request she looks to the sky and spits her blurb at me one more time before calling the next in line. I walk off none the wiser as to what to do. I ask one of the walkie talkie people and they just throw their hands up and shake their head. This is going well. After asking about 4 people I decide to go over to a security window and ask a guard. He speaks slowly and clearly and tells me what I need to do. Thank you, I respond with an appreciative relieved exhale. It transpired that I need to get the Loterria LRT (train) to the TBS (other bus station) with all year acronyms it's no wonder I hadn't a clue and if it was difficult for me, with English as a native language, you can imagine the difficulty someone would have of English is their second language. I manage to navigate my way to the other bus terminal and buy a ticket to Melaka, I'm lucky because it is leaving right now so no waiting around. My bus is comfortable and I sleep the whole way.

I arrive in Melaka and someone approaches me offering me a guest house, I let him give me a map and then head on my way. I catch a bus in to the centre of town and walk in the direction of my place with a Japanese guy I met on the bus. We stop for a pint so I can check my wifi, SJ says she has a room booked for me in a hostel so I'll be headin there. While I'm having a pint with the Japanese guy it occurs to me that this is the first drink I have had with a Japanese guy, and it's in Malaysia, brilliant. I get to the hostel and SJ tells me we have been upgraded to a bigger room because he found bed bugs. Second time in Malaysia. I ditch my stuff and SJ already has a spot picked out for dinner, so off we go to little India. I had THE most amazing satay. Big pot in the middle of the table, regularly topped up by the exceptionally attentive staff. With skewers costing less than 20p each. Can't be bad to that, I ate like a king all sorts of stuff, smothered in satay! Delicious! After dinner we head to the river and grab some beers. Cheap and nasty, but that didn't stop us polishing off 20 odd cans of the stuff. That is the problem hanging around with an Irish lass, the Craic and beer just start flowing, then we zig zag home and collapse.
