Up early as I have I check out by 10, need to get all my stuff packed as its kinda just everywhere. After I check out i go upstairs and chill in the common room. Suppose I better book somewhere to stay tonight. On to hostelworld to look at my options. Some guys from the hostel had recommended a place in Osaka that had a good social side to it, it also happens to be one of the cheapest available. No air conditioning in my room though, but I book it for a couple of nights, then if I'm struggling without the AC I can go somewhere else. Check in isn't till 2 so I just relax here, having my last price of two finger toast and some coffee before its time to go.

Pretty easy two train job to get to Osaka, and only about an hour of travelling. The hostel is also pretty easy to find, so it's all pretty good. Now I had read that the part of town I'm staying in isn't the nicest, and that is clear when you emerge from the station. Few homeless and few drunks, nothing like back at home though. They just kinda keep to themselves. I get to the hostel and check in, then get shown to my room. Pretty small, but I don't care, it's a private room, so just me. Been a while since I've had that. There is an odd smell too, probably from that tatami mats. I have a fan, which I suspect will do a sterling job of circulating the hot air around the room.

I nip downstairs to the common room for the rest of the afternoon, just to relax. I get chatting to a few people and they all seem friendly enough. I'm feeling a wee but tired today, not really in the mood for sightseeing. I'm also low on cash, and the only place that accepts my card is a 7/11 and I haven't seen one of those, have to ask about that later. As I'm short on cash dinner will be from a Family Mart, which does pretty decent food. Some noodle tempura thing and a panini of some sorts, job done.

I have no idea what I'm going to do in Osaka, I haven't looked at anything other than the castle. Maybe do that tomorrow. I look at some other hostels cause I'm not really feeling the vibe here, plus I'm not convinced about this no AC situation, especially as the evening approaches it is turning in to a sweat box. Its nice to have my own room, just not sure it's worth the loss of the AC.
