Bonjourno alllll!
Today is our full day in Lucca. It is very beautiful and is surrounded by mountains and a wall, which today we cycled around, TWICE! More on that later folks.
So this morning after a not so restful sleep, we b****ed for a bit about the very hairy fat lady who snored alll night underneath Anna (har de har, might i add). They are all bunk beds in our room, we are in a dorm of 8 beds at the moment. Anyway we think she might be leaving today thank the lord so we dont have to wake up another five times.
This morning we did some peruzing, after a nice breakfast of bread and also hot choclit for only 3 euros, bargain mate. Then we looked for ages to find a museum that didn't have anything written in English which was kind of annoying, as the museums was about roman pottery so it was basically just looking at pots. And walls. That we knew nothing about. Bu tanyway we got in free for howing our globabl passes (yaaay global passes) so we don't mind. Plus it made me feel uber cultural. (B) Anna doesnt fancy looking at pots much.
Then, after being followed by the tour guide man throughout the whle museum so we couldnt scape even if we wanted to, we walked around and got to the piazza bit in the middle that is a ring of terraced houses. It was very cute and Italian and we found really nice little shops ful of soap and candles and kitchen things, like mum shops. And then we had lunch in a restaurant on the wall and we had pizza but the service was shoddy but they charged us 25% tip anyway which we wouldnt have paid but we did because we didnt realise til afterwards and couldnt speak italian to express our anger as unsatisfied customers. Daylight frickin robbery i say!
Anyway then we went to the bike place, where Anna got distracted by the Yogurteria (yes it is actually called that its quite surreal) and got frozen yoghurt with white chocolate sauce and sprinkles etc, the works. Anna doesnt even like yoghurt. Then after her chocolatey treat we rented two pink bikes with baskets on the front and did lots of cycling, well, two routes around the wall which isnt that big but in total was probably about to miles and was quite strenuous on the old travellers thighs/ pegs. We saw some realy nice views, i love views, and took some pictures. And we put our stuff in the front baskets and felt like we were in the Sound of Music so we sang that doe ray me song, and cycled with dramatic happy intention.
When we finished our legs fet slightly jelloid so we came here to do our blog (but really we needed a sit down).
Moving to Rome tomorrow which very excited about, we are camping "renting a tent" apparantly. And there will be lots of stuff to do, so til then toodleooooo
B and Anna xx
