We are currently cooped up in a strange internet cafe, doing internet stuff whilst we are waiting 4 hours for our coach journey.
We left Venice this morning at 11 on the bus and got the Venice station at around half past, then waited for like an hour for the train. We thought wed be able to get a train straight to Ljubljana (pronounced Libiana, thanks to Mrs T) but alas, we were told NEIGH, we could only get a night train getting there at 1am. And we didnt fancy that seeing as wed paid for the night at the yoof hostel and jolly well wanted to sleep there!! And it would be closed by the time we made it. So we found an alternitive route, to get the train to Trieste and change for a bus. So we donned the train and sat in first class for ages and did some napping becuase I woke up at 5 and got up and did some reading and B woke up at 6 but she went back to sleep again. So we were both quite tired. But after about 2 hours we were shunted down to second class. Woe is us.
After that excitment we both needed the loo and hadnt eaten yet apart from a bounty earlier. Were loving bountys at the moment. Cant get enough of 'em. Anyway we tracked down toilets and a food establishment Post Haste. However, the toilets werent toilets that you sit on like we have, they were those holes in the ground. This was about 3 hours ago, we both still need the loo. So you can imagine what our reaction was to these toilets.
But then I was thinking about toilets and Englsih people and stuff and I throughout this journey we have been discussing how we have become increasingly aware of the English reputation for being prudes. And how we can kind of see it. The toilet situation is a fine example of our prudocity.
Anyway now were waiting for the bus which will leave at 7 and get us ther for 9. Aces. Only cost 7euros too.
I must now take the time to add that B is currently on webcam to her family, and they are all there! Waving and beaming. Classic Temples.
So Venice... yes Venice is ace. I reccomend it. The campsite was average, nothing much to report apart from the buses everwhere. Like big doubnle decker ones. One was for information and the other was for internet, it was called the Cyber bus. Original.
So yesterday we caught the ferry across to the good bit of Venice and mooched about, peruzing through the streets, eating and stuff. It was really nice. Venice itself is beautiful and the water bits are super clean! I was suprised (bordering on shocked) at how clean they were. We took loads of pictures. We wanted to go on a gondala ride but it was too exponsive. 60euros! For a picolo!! That means small. So a small journey. Sod that, we said. But we paid 50 centimes and crossed the river on a gondala, that was ace!! There was a man standing there crossing with us who was on his phone on a business suit and it made me realise that Venice is not justone of those touristy places full of tourists and stuff, but people actually live there and crossing the river via gondala is part of their daily thing. But me and B were like AWTHOME!! Becuase obviuosally to us, we dont do that every day.
Then at around 5ish we came back and booked our place after Ljubljana, a place called Lake Blud. And they do lots of activities there like water sports and sky diving! Which Im all for (the sky diving) but I dont know if ill chicken out nearer the time... well see. I want to though. Itll be an Ace Story to tell! Plus I want to do it. For the experience laaak.
So for now, over and out. I think the internet is free in Ljubljana (if not it definatly is in Blud) so well be uploading some pictures. Keep your eyes peeled!
