Hi all,
im nearly all done in New Zealand, Its been a busy couple of weeks with some more travelling and finally making it back to Queenstown for one last weekend. Last time i wrote i was ub rotorua about to leave for the East of the North Island.
The east side was definetely a highlight of my travels after queenstown, it was a small minibus of 7 and a beautiful beautiful unspoilt area. I watched 2 gorgeous sunrises...one being the first place in the country to see the sunrise from. I also did some surfing in the most perfect conditions imaginable. So perhaps im not the best surfer in the world, but one the waves looked beautiful and 2 it was great to get back in the sea...it wasnt actually that chilly (thank goodness for the 2 wetsuits i was wearing!!). It was a very chilled atmosphere we did what we wanted, when we wanted. chilled round the camp fire in the evening and drove during the day. our final evening was spent in a hot tub right on the beach, sipping wine and enjoying the company. was the perfect way to end the trip. so that was four days of seeing new things and was definetly worth it. We returned to Rotorua and then my next chapter was with Janette and Glynn.
Turned out they were coming to Rotorua anyway with their 2 friends Pauline and Eric. I met them in Rotorua and took me back to their place in Tauranga. What a gorgeous place it was...lots and lots of fruit trees, better weather and great views. It was great to see Janette and Glynn again. I felt spoilt to have food cooked for me, a really comfy bed to sleep in and pauline and eric to show us around, of course them being locals and knowing the ins and outs! we went to a kiwi fruit place and saw how all the great kiwis of the country were grown, cut and packed...im glad i wasnt packing fruit all day for a living! We went to a popular beach town Mount Maunganui, climbed the main mount and had some amasing views and of course did some shopping in the centre. It was lovely to see janetter and glynn, it was strange seeing them on the other side of the world!! after staying in Tauranga for 3 nights i headed back to Auckland with Janette to catch a flight down to Qtown.
I bumped into a couple of friends in Auckland from Queenstown which was great,m spent some time with them the night before my flight. the next day i flew down to Queenstown. I was very excited the whole journey down, although it took slightly longer than expected due to very poor weather conditons down there. they were so bad that the plane couldnt land and we were diverted to Invercargill...then began the long bus journey back to Queenstown, it was strange seeing the town from the air and then not being able to see it again till it was dark when we arrived 4 hours later! it was a very amusing day and boy was it a relief to finally arrive and be collected from the airport.
This weekend has been great. Soo good to see everyone again, it really felt like i had never left once i had seen everyone again. I soent a good couple nights partying like i used to and catching up with everyone...nothing much has changed at all! Queenstown is beginning to come back to life now that there has been the transition from summer to winter. There is lots of snow on the tops of the mountains and all the snowboarders and skiers are arrving and of course with that the ski rental shops and sales. I left this morning from there and caught the kiwi bus up to Christchurch. It was a lot less eventful than the last time i caught the same bus from queenstown to christchurch and arrived about an hour ago. It been a blast the last month, ive definetely seen most of new zealand now...ive left a couple things in case i come back of course, but im about to bid farwell to new zealand and say hello to australia!
i think im all sorted fro australia now, have found some cheap accommodation for the first couple of days and have a brief plan. im not sure if im going to make it to melbourne now, think im just going to stick with sydney. Ive some serious worries about India and feel i should be doing some big research on the place before getting there. I have heard alot about it and hav doubts these days. ill keep you posted but ive a feeling my plans may cahnge again......
anywho, your all up to date again now. i cant believe everything is beginning to wind up now and i can begin to think about coming home...only 2 months left now!!! eeeekkkkk
