So this is my first blog entry since Ive left the UK. Everythings going really well.
The fligth, depsite being very very long was good. watched Mamma Mia yet again and sat next to a very lovely couple from Orange County!! Was lovely to have someone to talk to for our 11hour flight despite getting very tired and fidgety by the end! We touched down 3pm that afternoon very jetlagged and was in bed by 7.30 that night.
Trek has started now, the group are really good, soooo different tho. Im with 2 koreans, one japanese, 2 swiss, 2 germans, and aussie, 2 english and a scot. the language barrier isn't too big an issue but it certainly makes for interesting conversation when the translation gets a little way laid! We started trek at 7.30 the next morning, glorious sunshine (shorts and tshirt all the wayyyy!) and started making our way south to san diego. after arriving at our campsite and setting up tents we headed to the beach...white sand good waves (beginners waves tho). Of course being english we went in to our leaders surprise. It was a little chilly to say the least. After doing some wondering of the streets and getting our bearings, we headed back to camp for chilli dinner and dinks round the camp fire! what more could you want...it could have been a little warmer tho. Once the sun had gone down (we watched the sunset over the pacific which was abswolutely gorgwous) it got colder and colder. Havent really come prepared for this weather so im now buying some long sleeved jumpers and fleeces. apparently it will warm up again once weve gone past the grand canyon...rumour has it that its about -10 at night there (brrrr).
Anyway, Im safe and sound, about to run out of time in the interent cafe now. Im having an awesome time. My international phone isnt working here for some reason but i dont really need it right now. Thank goodness for internet!
I'll update you all again soon. Im heading to havansu lake tomorrow, then the grand canyon for 2 nights.
Updates/photos coming soon xxxx
