The morning after the night before.... Last nights sleep wasn't the best! So feeling just a little bit dusty after yesterday's events! And today we leave at 7am to catch a 4hr public bus ride from Vang Vieng to Vientiane.

I really need a coke but can only get Pepsi, so not the same and it doesn't hit the spot. Really don't understand why anyone would drink Pepsi over coke. I digress....

We hop on the public bus which is really old, worn, no air con and generally noisy. The overhead rack is failing apart and the back and bottom of my seat is no longer attached! Oh well, all adds to the experience!

There will be locals and lots of stops today on this bus. I think Vientiane is approx 175km away but the road is in disrepair, dusty in parts and all over the place, so it will take at least 4hrs. Hard to believe it's the main road to the capital city.

Our arrival in each little town/village is announced by the driver by a loud toot of the horn. Windows need to be closed cause of all the dust! Most of us are happy to look out the window at the scenery of passing cows, villages and motorbikes or have a sleep. Anything beside the road is covered in a thick film of red dust including the trees & houses!

The trip ends up taking closer to 5hours and I begin to notice a difference in road quality and dwellings as we near the capital. There is not much else to report! See you in Vientiane!
