Despite putting my Bed Bug sheet down, I keep seeming to get bitten somewhere every night. Last night seemed to be the turn of my left shoulder and right hand, so I'm enjoying that this morning. b******s.
On a more positive note despite not having a brilliant sleep I was feeling more like myself this morning. The only problems with me now appear to be my Ear Infection and the pain behind my eye balls. The rest of the symptoms seemed to have gone over night, and I was keen for a good breakfast.
I can't remember doing anything productive all morning, and specially remember saying at 11am; "it's 11am and I have done absolutely nothing since getting up at 7:30". That sums up the morning - I think I just chilled out and chatted to Matt.
Joey and I decided to go and have lunch at one of the Cafe's over looking Echo Beach, so we could watch the surfers and eat. Unfortunately the weather was pretty grim, wet and onshore (but not cold, obviously), but it was good to have lunch somewhere else anyway.
The ocean was really stormy/rippy with a fair swell coming in, and just as we arrived at the resteraunt, we witnessed some tourist being saved by 2 surfers from what appeared to be an iminant drowning. It was a bit of an eye opener to be honest, then we heard a woman sat near by saying it was the 4th person to be pulled out the water that morning. It seems Russian's imparticular are a bit of a liability in those conditions.
Having had a good chicken burger for lunch (after 2 weeks+ of eating 'out' in some form or another, I better keep up the exercise or i'll be piling it on round the middle soon!) we walked up to Daios (spelt wrong?) a couple of Km up the road from Echo Beach. Joey and I were both hoping to get board socks in one of the 2 surf shops, but when they came to $40 a pop (just like prices at home) I sacked of the idea and decided I will look in Kuta. From there we walked the remaining few Km back 'home'. Having just hung about Joey went for a last surf, and Matt and I walked down to the beach and sat watching the swarms of people in the water for a while. Later on the weather came in again and we came back to the villa to chill out and do nothing while it rained pretty hard.
We ate and then Joey and Matt had to take their taxi to Kuta, as they fly back to Australia tonight. It really sucked to see them go, as they were such a great laugh. To be honest I probably got on with them even better than Georgie and Saskia, as Joey and I are similar ability and equally keen on surfing, and Matt is just bloody hilarious. Also it's the 1st time in about 2 months (and 1st time in Bali) I have been out on my own again, although only temporarily as Saskia is back on the 8th.
On the other hand we'll keep in touch via Facebook for sure, and I'm super keen to catch up with Joey in Ireland for a surf trip when he is home from Australia later this year. It would be a great way to do a trip there, with someone who knows it so well!
Also I'm keen to see what GoPro footage Matt manages to put together on his Laptop back in Aus.
After they left I was a bit bummed out, so just went back to my room, stuck some ear drops in my ear and read a bit before going to sleep.
