We decided that Melanie was well enough to travel to Cape Leveque today, so we set off as early as we could given that she was still feeling unwell. the first 90km of the trip was on severely corrugated sand road. It was so bad in some spots we couldn't even get to 70kmh.
Finally got past the first 90km and guess what, nice bitumen roadway. Go figure. Can you imagine them carting the asphalt in over that first 90 km to lay the road. Just doesn't make sense.
Got to Kooljaman, and what a view, as soon as you turn the corner of the track.
Our campsites were pretty small, as were all sites in the campground. There were also tent type bungalows setup on platforms on stilts, as well as thatched huts on the beach that you could camp in (for a price).
Went down to the Western Beach to watch the sunset. Fantastic views.
Looking forward to doing a few things here like fishing, fishing and fishing, and maybe fit in a bit of fishing if we have time.
