Day 6 - Greeted with another fine morning in Inverness. Fuelled up (at about $2.80/litre), and after a small hiccup with the GPS (turned out to be a power problem in the car) we headed for the famous Loch Ness. The Loch starts about 15 minutes (about 10 miles) out of Inverness and stretches for some 25 miles. We travelled beside the lake until we reached a popular tourist spot called Drumnadrochit (easier to type than pronounce). Here you can catch a cruise on the loch, explore the exhibition centre and visit the nearby ruins of Urquhart Castle, we decided to visit the castle. From here we headed north east along the picturesque coastline towards the area of Scotland known as Caithness. We arrived at a cosy coastal village of Wick and spent the night in the Nethercliffe Hotel. Had a great meal (and a beer and wine or two) in their lounge/bar which had room for about 20 people. David had the slippers on by 7.30pm and was in bed soon after. This was his earliest night so far.
