Day 8 - We were on the road about 10.30(a late start) out of Ullapool passing several large lochs and stopping at Dornie to visit the Eilean Donan Castle. It sits on the meeting point of three sea lochs on the west coast of Scotland on an island in Loch Duich and joins the mainland via a stone walk bridge. The castle was featured in the bond film "The world is not Enough" The castle dated back to the 16th century. Restoration work has been carried out in immaculate detail, to show the visitor how life was in the castle centuries ago. In some areas photography was not allowed. After about one & a half hours we were on the road again and crossed over a huge high arched bridge over the Loch of Alsh and onto the Isle of Skye. Roads here were not made for large vehicles. The countryside consists of high mountains and dotted with waterfalls. Snow could still be seen on some of the higher mountains. We drove the coastal road that circled Skye finally finding a B&B in the small town of Portree.
