Well after the longest journey of my life we have finally made it to Goa! We had to catch the bus from Udaipur at 3:30pm and once again opted for the sleeper option only to discover that it nwas smaller than the last one and the door wouldnt shut properly so had to spend the first few hours with just a flimsy curtain to protect/contain me! But after some nifty penknife skills I managed to fix the problem. The bus was frustrating to say the least! about 2 mins after we set off it stiopped for abiout 1/2 an hr to put some words up on the windscreen then it continued to stop every 5 mins after for no apparent reason! Fibnally when we did get going the bloody thing pulled over again as we had a puncture! and that took another hour to fix so we were already about 2 hrs late and we hadnt even fully left Udaipur!! It did perk up tho and I managed to sleep for most of the nigth part and to be fair to the driver he stopped regularly enough for us to empty the tank every now and then! After about 17 jrs we arrived in Mumbai at about 9am the next day. It was a bit of a shock and like many of the cities we have got the bus into it isnt exactly a welcoming site with all the slums and shanty towns. Unfortunately as it was Mumbai it was about 10 times the scale we had seen before! there is also a thick level of smog layering the sky above the city which is clearly visible no matter which horizon/direction you are looking! its clear to see why tho with the amount of traffic about. We must have hit it at rush hour cos the traffic jams were horrendous. We got dropped opff and then had to get a rickshaw to the train station..................
