Today was our first full day on the boat. To my surprise I woke up and noticed that I had a huge puffy eye due to a mozzie bite. :( Though it was itchy and I was partly blind the day went pretty well.
Our first challenge today was to steer the boat in the right direction to make it through the lock safely. With the great help of or crew ( Tahlia, Mum and I + Dad the captain) we did it, but this time with a lot more grace. After the canal was opened we crossed the Bassin Du Thau, (a large Salt Lake). The water in the lake was definitely beautiful shining with it's blue elegance and hiding the grand oyster beds from harm. Soon enough we reached the other side of the bassin and then slowly began cruising down the Canal du Rhone à Sete.
By the time we reached the next check point (Frontignan Bridge) it was around 2:00pm. To our shock horror we realized the bridge only opened twice a day at 4pm and 8:30am. So instead of hanging around we went exploring in the town of Frontignan. After seeing everything we wanted we head back to get the boat into position for motoring through the bridge .
We waved goodbye to Frontignan. Soon after arriving in a little place named Palavas les Flots we settled down for a homemade dinner and a little stroll down the river. We even spotted a few flying fish 0<.
