It was an early morning rise and before 8:00am we were all on deck, determined to make the 8:30am Frontignan Bridge opening. It was finally time. As we raced our boat under the bridge, the most spectacular black creature emerged from deep within the calm water. It kind of looked like a bat but as a fish, flapping it's wings as it sped along.
When we finally reached the Bassin du Thau, Mum volunteered to take a turn at the wheel for a while. We suddenly heard a bump and realized that we had run aground in the shallow part of the bassin! We all began to panic (except Dad!) Then Dad very heroically jumped into the water and pushed us safely into the deep area. :)
From there we continued to motor across to a marina in a town called Marseillan. In the marina we were informed; that due to oyster beds close by we were not allowed to use toilets on board. So we went to take a look around at the boats and look for a toilet.
When we retuned to the boat we started again on our journey. This time back down the Canal du Midi and past Agde. Before we got to Agde we passed the 2 familiar locks then it made through once again successfully.
Finally we passed Agde and spent the night not far from the base area.
