Day 4 on the canal boat
Today we woke up nice and early to go under the Frontignan bridge at 8:30 before entering the Bassin de Thau.
As we motored along the Bassin de Thau and just before we entered Marseillan, Mum accidentally got us stuck in a shallow bit of the Bassin. We thought we had no hope of getting out. Luckily Dad had his boardies on so he jumped in and pushed the boat away from the shallow bit. We then continued on towards Marseillan which is beautiful, it reminded me of the Whitsunday marina with lots of yachts and boats. Here you are not allowed to dispense waste from your boat toilet, sink & shower because of the oyster beds nearby.
When we reached Marseillan we moored safely and had a little little look around. After that we headed off again and went through the same two locks again but this time with more success.
We made it back to the Canal du Midi and passed Agde and moored a little way up from it. It was a nice night and there was a fair nearby so you could hear all the noises from it. The fun fair is held every year for the summer holidays.
This was our last night on the canal boat. We had a wonderful time, unwinding and relaxing.
It was a great experience for me and I enjoyed mostly the teamwork as you prepare to approach and depart from each lock. Tahlia
