Hi everyone!
This morning we got up early to go to Agde for our canal boating experience. Dad estimated the trip will take about 3 and a 1/2 hours. We rented a boat named the Java.
We arrived in town about 12.30pm but had to wait until 2:00pm until the boat was fully ready for us to take. We then decided to explore Agde.
Before we were allowed to take the boat out, a mentor showed us how everything worked. While me, Mum and Tahlia were on ropes Dad was at the wheel. We finally got started and were left to our own devices to get through a new thing called the lock. The locks are used to change the water levels when going from a canal to sea water level.
The boat I thought was really awesome on the inside but on the outside the paint had turned yellow and the railing was a little bent. Overall it was pretty good for a 21yr old boat!
That evening we made it slowly up the Canal du Midi, before mooring near a caravan park for the night.
