Cesky Krumlov day trip today so up early to walk to train station for 7.15am train (takes about 3.5 hours with train change at Cesky Budejovice). We made a tight connection, arrived in Cesky Krumlov and walked down into town.
Town is world heritage, no cars allowed and very old and well preserved with narrow cobbled lanes and is in the bend of the same river that passes through Prague - hence has had some flooding and sandbags at the ready but river has dropped 1 metre since yesterday so ok but still running very fast
The town and the setting are very picturesque but it was all a bit touristy for us.
Came with gear ready to stay the night but after a walk around and lunch overlooking the river we decided to head back to Prague late pm. Another tight connection made - beautiful agricultural land (very green) and little villages in valleys - back in Prague by 7pm
Quick dinner at Druveh Svet (local Czech place) again and home after a long day
