Steady rain all day today but we still headed out walking. Into the old town and over to Charles Bridge with the intention of crossing it to explore the other side of the river and Prague Castle. No way, the bridge was closed as the river has broken its banks, the lower area of the old town is in danger of flooding (businesses on the river banks are flooded) and a state of emergency has been declared. So we retreated back to the Old Town Square and followed a self guided walk around the old Jewish section of the old town.
Then it was time for being out of the rain for a while so inside for a wine and lunch - bring on the massive and delicious pork knuckle (see photo).
Slow and steady walk back to the apartment for a nap to allow the lunch to digest.
About 8pm headed out for dinner though not sure we really needed it. Headed up the hill away from the old town and found lots of neighbourhood restaurants which primarily cater for those who live in this residential area of Prague. Chose one and had good food and service - must explore this area more before we leave.
We were going to day trip to Cesky Krumlov tomorrow but it has been badly affected by the floods so we might leave that till later in the week when the weather is supposed to be better
