Yup still in Auckland!! Not for long though... flights are booked to Oz in January which is exciting and I'm heading up north to the Bay of Islands before that FOR FREE! Yup - you heard right!

There is a story to why I got a free trip north... last Thursday (just over a week ago) I went into the IEP office and saw a poster looking for people from the UK to do a thing for Tourism New Zealand on the Friday so I said I'd do it (not really knowing what I was doing...). So, on the Friday morning after getting up at a stupid time of the morning, me and 8 other Brits got picked up outside one of the youth hostels and driven down to the viaduct where we were greeted by Tourism New Zealand who explained a little bit about what we were going to be doing. Basically they are doing a big avertising campaign in the UK where they get people to record messages about what they think of NZ to try and get others here to visit!

Was quite a cool couple of hours and what made it really interesting was that it was the launch of the campaign so there was media there and the New Zealand Prime Minister! And he actually came and had a conversation with us about why we were in NZ, where we were from etc. Although I did find it a bit strange when I said I went to Aberdeen Uni and he said "Aberdeen Uni is a good Uni but Edinburgh is excellent" Very strange... Anyway, as a thank you for doing the filming thing, we all got a goodie bag and a free trip up north with Kiwi Experience! I've booked mine over my birthday in January which is gonna be cool!!

Anyhoo... I'm getting annoyed by the guy who's playing dance music very loud not too far away from me so I'm gonna go! More photos will appear soon... xx
