Ah I just want school to be over so I can travel!!! I have a rough draft of my traveling plans. So my lovely parents are coming to visit around the 6 of November for a week. Then hopefully I will be done with finals around Thanksgiving, if I'm lucky. If so I plan on taking a bus back up to Salta to visit the surrounding cities I missed the last time, then crossing the boarder and traveling in Bolivia. Then either fly or take a bus to Peru and of course visit Machu Pichu as well as Lima and other cities. After Peru head to meet up with friends in Chili, spend Christmas there and then New years in Mendoza. Finally take a bus back to Bs As and fly home! How does that sound?? One packed month : ) can't wait.
Spent the afternoon in my backyard reading for a class. It is finally getting warmer here. I'm so ready to enjoy the summer I haven't had. I ran at the river this evening and once again there were hundreds of people and families laying around, flying kites, eating at the restaurants. Those times make me appreciate Vicente lopez a little more. I have my days though when I'm stuck on the damn bus for an hour that I really want to move closer to the center. I probably spend around 7 hours on the bus a week. Most of the time I enjoy the ride, people watching and just taking in the city.
I love the travel channel. I have become addicted to No Reservations and Bizarre Foods. I really want their job, except I probably couldn't eat all the crazy stuff they do. Some of eat is really out there. I love the food here, but I really miss mexican and Oasis. I think thought that I could live a pretty long time on empanadas. They are so delicious and different and every restaurant or bakery.
I have already started looking into other study abroad programs : ) I figured if I saved up a couple of summers, maybe senior year I could come back to South America or maybe Central America. I would like to go some where a little less touristy, so I can become more immersed in the culture. Plus South and Central America are cheaper, so it would actually be possible. Traveling is just so addicting. I meet such interesting people who have been so many places and have so many stories. I want to be able to have those experiences to tell people about as well. I think traveling makes you a more rounded person. It is important to understand and learn about how other people live.
