Yesterday we went on a llama trekk up to 15,500 feet, taking us a total of 5 - 6 hours. We all went apart from Emily (who had done it before with a previous group, Liz and Laura. The altitude affected me pretty severely and every time I stopped walking or had to walk up the slightest incline, I would feel as if I couldn´t breathe. The trick was not to panic, and it soon pàssed. It also made me feel so drowsy to the point of when we were trekking a little on the horses, I was falling asleep. I was woken at one point when Samantha (my room mate) fell off her horse and did a cameo, stunt mand roll down the hill. Not funny at the time I assure you!
After the trekk we were taking to some natural occuring hot baths which we were told were only a 10minute drive away. If I´ve learnt anything from being here, it is that Peruvian time is a calculation of; (time) x 2 + 1 hour! It took us about an hour to get there. Inside this hut was a dirt filled area with what look like a concrete swimming pool. Not usually my cup of tea, but I feel like I have to try everything out here atleast one. So Robbie, Se Jal, Samantha and I all stripped down and plunged in. My GOSH, it was h...o....t!!!
So today, I think we´re all pretty exhaustd from trekking. We´re watching a film and just chilling.... nice!!!
