We set off on Fiday to the Coast. First stop Ica. After a 8.5 hour an journey with no air conditioning and quite frankly, no air, we arrived at our first hotel stop. The next day we went sand boarding down the sand dunes in Ica. The view was beautiful. Miles and miles of timeless, unmoved sand shapes and formations. After that, I took a dip in the swimming pool at the hotel and then we went to visit some of the old wineries and ceramic places in the vinicity. Before lunch we sampled some of the finest Pisco. Pisco sour, Pisco perfect love, light Pisco, dark Pisco, we tasted and tasted until I felt a litle tipsy. Lucnch was very interesting that day. Just loving the food here. Big, fresh and creamy advocado, juicy meat, rice rice and more rice.
The following day, which took the smallest plane I have ever been in in my whole entire life. We took to the skies to view the Nazca lines. The Pilot was really sweet even though he told me that it does get quite monotonous doing this over and over again, ¨how many times can you say, "there´s the monkey, thers the monkey, there´s the monkey!!". Although, the experience was novel for me and I just love flying anyway. After Nazca we did some more site seeing and then headed to Paracas.
Paracas was just what we needed. Sun, sea and sand. Beautiful seafood and the hotel was top notch (thank you Pancho... aka The GodFather). He organised the whole thing and was a brilliant guide.
