Today I booked a Fishing Charter with Blue Horizon Fishing.
We left the Marina about 7.30am & arrived at the fishing ground about 9.00am, there were 8 other guys on the Charter & they were all good blokes.
We only had the lines in 2 mins when one of the guys caught a beautiful coral trout, we all thought we were going to be in for a great day..............
Then nothing!
We moved around a lot & caught a few nice reef fish but no keepers. The skipper Steve was getting a bit anxious that nothing was happening so he pulled up the anchor & we went out into deeper water.
Steve warned us that we would catch fish here but we had to get them up fast because of the Sharks.
He was right, within minutes I hooked a big spangled emperor, it put up a great fight, I all but had it in the boat when a 3 metre shark chomped it before the deckie could net it, all I got on board was the head )-:
We had to go back to shallower water because no one could land a fish, we were losing heaps of fish & tackle!
