Today I carried out my standard routine, being in the flat can be restricting because there is no garden and it can be boring being stuck in the flat all day, however today is my last day of being Anne Frank and tomorrow we go to the holiday home for the month! A few weeks ago it was the Grandfathers 80th birthday and he wanted to take the full family out for dinner to celebrate. I appreciated how nice it was that I was invited. We arrived around 9 o'clock (standard Spanish dinner time) and ate around 10 the time everyone arrived. Overall there was 20 people there, it was difficult being the only non Spanish person there but the family were all supportive of including me and making sure I didn't feel left out which was extremely nice. As it was a dinner I thought you choose your meal, however what it in fact was like a tapas with plate after plate of food coming out to share. This included 4 plates of of potato salad, bread, fish and chips, fried aubergine, different fish, calamari, meat along with many more different plates. When everyone sang happy birthday the grandad started to cry which made me near set off! At the end of the night we all walked home, I am so grateful for such a nice family and how welcoming they are.
