2 of the best days for me, sunday and monday. Sunday we walked from our hotel along Lombard Street to find the famous winding road. The walk up is a workout and after American sized breakfasts, its torture!! The view when you get to the top is worth the dying legs though. Yet another incredible day! Went off to Alcatraz today. It's bloody cold on The Rock so take a jacket! It doesn't feel like a tourist attraction. It still feels like a prison even though a lot of walls are missing. There is an audio tour as you walk through the cells with ex guards talking about their time there, including the escape attempt where three men have still not been found and the riot that needed marines to come and help! Not too much tourist type activity happened today. We went for a classic American breakfast at a Denny's! Those Americans know how to eat. Pancakes with everything including a fried breakfast! What an amazing first couple of days! The flight was forever but had a huge selection of films so can't complain.
