Christina´s Extraordinary Adventures Abroad!
Alright well I just got back from the Iguazu Falls!! I encourage everyone reading this to google it because its freaking amazing!! I've been hanging out with 2 girls I met here alot, Mary and Lori. They are both from Washington State. Mary is a year older than me and Lori is a mom and has kids our age but is really kewl...they both are. Well Drew, Mary, Lori and I all got on a plane at 7:30 Saturday morning to go to Iguazu Falls. The plane ride was about an hour and 15 minutes when we got off we had our private tour guide waiting to pic us up...her name was Margarita and she spoke English!! We were all ultra excited! It was pouring rain and we weren't exactly sure if we would be able to see everything in the rain but boy were we mistaken. Apparently this time of year...although it is summer for most parts of the world...well the States and Europe...it is winter here so it is a down season for the falls...but a bunch of tourists come. And there were a ton there. This made me very glad that we had our own private guide so we could go where we wanted and take our time on things we wanted to see. The first place we went was on the ecological train. It took us to the biggest fall in the National Park. Now for those of you that don't know and won't look it up the Iguazu Falls are located on the border of Brasil and Argentina and therefore have 2 sides for viewing the falls. Even though I wanted to go to Brasil soo bad...we couldn't because you have to have a visa. So we went to the biggest fall first because it stopped raining...it is called garganta del diablo...in english the devil's throat! Yea and as you can see from my pictures that's a pretty darn good name for it! It was AMAZING!! The first thought I had was how in the world could someone look at something that phenomenal and not believe that our amazing God the Father created it with His magnificent power!?!? It is really beyond describing....I could sit here and write a million ways to describe it all and you can even see my pictures and try and relate but it still would not to it justice. The sight is absolutly unbelievable!! After seeing that we went on the upper circuit trail and saw other amazing falls...still indescribable!! We ate lunch at an all you can eat buffet...it was definitley for allthe tourists...lol...and it was only 30 pesos...which is about 10 US dollars! Really cheap! After lunch we went on the lower circuit trail and ended up at the lowest point to board a boat to actually go into the falls...not given that there are only some you can actually get close enough to to go under that are safe and won't drown you. This was pretty freaking amazing too! For me to be able to say that I was literally in the Iguazu Falls is really awesome! And needless to say we were REALLY soaked!! But at least we amused the tour guide and boat people! After our day was finished and we had seen all we could see in that beautiful place we boarded a bus to take back to Buenos Aires...it took us 17 hours!!! Yea...we laugh about it because it would be like if someone came to visit me in Georgia and told me they were going to New York by bus...I would definitley think they had lost their mind...and everyone thought we had lost ours as well. The bus ride wasn't so bad, we slept through most of it and watched movies...Spiderman 2 and Van Helsing in Spanish and on Sunday morning 8 Below but at least that was in English. So we made it back yesterday afternoon safe and sound.
I have uploaded a bunch of pictures so far but still have more to put up so check back here soon to see the rest!
I love you all and miss yall!
