Monday 17.02.08

Again always a lazy morning when I have work in the afternoon!! I really should start getting up earlier!! I have a good tidy of my room which erupted over the weekend and I do the washing up...I am becoming very efficient now!!! The weather is so beautiful it is like 31 C and I am so annoyed that I am going to be stuck in a swimming pool when I could be on the beach! My shift is good, then I plan to meet Adam, Jamie and Jamie number two (Jamie's friend from back home) at St Kilda Beach as it is still so hot and to take advantage of the $5 pizza deal...however, I find out that the lads have already been and are on the way back!! Rude! The girls go on the Great Ocean Road trip and they said it was absolutely amazing...I just hope that the weather is as good when I get to go when Frankie and her cousin Hannah arrive!! In the evening I watch Gossip Girl - the first one and it is so good...it is the latest of series I will definately become addicted to!! Nice early night as I am up early tomorrow!!

Tuesday 19.02.08 - Cinema Night

I have my all day shift, nice early start! I assist as Paul is there today so I get less pay, but he makes me take most of the lessons!! Bloody piss take he gets paid more while I run his lessons and he sits on the side chatting to the parents!! I learn lots of new songs so I am expanding my Waterbabies knowledge which will be good when I get back to England! I do the wheels on the bus, if your happy and you know it and the best one............the Hokey-Cokey which turns into the FishyWish putting your left fins in and then your tentacles! Oh its great...cant wait to start singing those ones when I get back to Cumnor House...Dave and Chris will not appreciate my new songs I am sure!! I go to Albert Park during my lunch break as it is so so so HOT and I try to catch some rays...its 34 C today and I have been in the pool all day!! My afternoon shift goes well, I am starting to get to know the children which is great and also one of the parents told my supervisor what a fantastic job I was doing so I was rather pleased with that!! When we get back we all hit the cinema to see Fool's Gold...well all being me, georgie, livi, jamie, jamie, adam, aaron and thomas!! And the cinema seats are so much better really padded and like huge armchairs!! The film was good especially the lady who sat at the back on her own and started having fits of laughter...she was the best entertainment of the night!! We go for drinks after to the Lounge...but I decide to stick to my diet coke!! No alcohol for me thanks!! A very satisfying day really!!

Wednesday 20.02.08 - First day at MVC

I wake up nice and early with plans to get in the next episode of Gossip Girl but Adam is a loser and needs to use his laptop...god selfish!! haha! So I make myself some lunch and then realise that I can get the train to this new job in like 20mins!! Which is brilliant as it makes it much more worth while!! One of the girls at MSAC lives near by so she draws me a map but I forget to ask which direction I will be coming from so get a little lost but eventually find my way to the school, about a five minute walk from the station! The next cahllenge is to find my way around the school, eventually after a little panic I find it and meet Anya who is like the manager and some of the other coaches, an old boy called Tony or Toby can't remember, the younger teachers and then Brad the head coach of that squad. I start assisting with a teacher called Amanda, she knows her stuff but is not very projective with her voice, something that comes as a norm with me...so I soon seem to take over the lesson so its more like even teaching rather than assisting. So I have learn to swim for an hour and a half then jump out and join Brad in teaching the squads!! He asks me to tell him about myself, my experience etc and is quite impressed that I am young but actually know what I'm talking about. So I end up taking a breaststroke session with the squads, my speciality!! The squads are like Sharks from Leatherhead, same age kids but much better, they are the lowest squad in MVC (Melbourne Vic Centre) swimming club!! Which is awesome as I am now coaching at the team Grant Hackett swims for...haha!! Go ME!! I really enjoy the coaching and am so so so pleased that I decided to go with it! Anya tells me Brad was a little apprehensive as most of the young teachers are not that good and they do it mainly for the good money, but that he was really impressed with me and thinks it will be awesome for me to work there for the next five weeks!! When I get home I watch a film with Adam, Jamie and Jamie, we watch Knocked Up but I fall asleep...!!

Thursday 21.02.08...................Obsevation Deck

Today was one of the best days that I have had here!! Really random which was why it was great!! I wake up and decide to go with Jamie, Jamie and Tom to the Eureka building which is the highest building in the whole of the Southern Hemisphere!! It was awesome...taking only 37 seconds to get up 88 levels on the lift! And it only cost like $9, we paid extra to do the Edge experience where you stand in a glass box and it moves out of the building!! It was a bit of a waste of money an extra $10 but we very illegally took a photo off the screen of the photo taken of us so that we didn't have to pay an extra $15 for the photo!! Very naughty!! Then the fun starts!!

The boys allow me to go happy snappy and work with me to make some awesome photos!! The day turns out to be really nice and very hot so we get some great scenery shots very artistic...aswell as some lamp-post, statue and river shots!! We have such a laugh and as you know I love my photos so appreciated the lads getting involved. I caught up with the girls to discuss the evening plans and then we go for a drink in Fed Square!! So chilled love it having such a good time here!! We explore the Catherdral and I take lots of photos...its amazing the building is beautiful and we arrive in time for the Choir...made me think of Home Alone!! We head home and get ready to party!! Also I receive a text message from Jol Finck who is the assistant Head Coach at MVC who praises me for my coaching the day before, as he heard I was a 'superstar' coach!! Yay was really nice to get that message!!

After rather a lot of Goon (wine) which tastes so much better as it is a bit flat and stale, we head out to Billboard, twisting my ankle as we go!! Oh dear!! We have an awesome night it is so cheap and I only spend about $25! I disgracefully fall over about 10 times but I put that down to slippy floor and new shoes!! Not the alcohol (ahem!)! The music is crazy and we manage to blag some free drinks from some lads that recognised us from St Kilda Festival!! Woohoo!! On the way home Livi get the smallest piece of glass in her foot and we end up having 5 security guards, 2 aussie lads and an Indian Cleaner all looking for first aid kits and one finally getting it out!! It was hilarious!! We get home and all crash in the lads flat as Harry has his frineds over again!! An absolutely crazy and hilarious night out!! OH how I am loving my gap year!!

Friday 24.02.08....................The morning after the night before!!

Oh dear!! Oh dear oh dear!! How funny looking back at the drunken photos and videos!! The best night so far I think!! Adam decides to wake everyone at 8am...we got in at bloody 5am what was he thinking!! We all sleep again and wake for a subway and films, blue crush...except Adams retarded computer doesnt show the last 10mins so everyone is tres frustrated!! We all bum around feeling very ill and still a little drunk!! Also I get a call from my boss to ask if I can work on saturday!! Very embarrassing as he asks, 'did I wake you up' and I was like yeh kind of, and he just laughed at me!!

Oh and one of my most exciting moments so far...I looked at my bank balance I put in $1000 at the start of my experience for back up and now I have...$1077 woohoo!! So I have earnt it all back and more! So happy as I am not having money issues!! I'm enjoying work, I have a new job, the weather is getting better, friendships growing, and Melbourne is awesome!! Enjoying life to the MAX!!! Bloody loving life, I want to be young forever!!
