Thursday 31st Jan
I slept in (again sleep is so good) and went with Adam to Caulfield Grammar School. It was my first experience on the train, quite like the underground, except it is't underground for long and you have to open the doors yourself...I felt slightly silly when I realised the doors don't open for you and I was stood waiting for something to happen!! I met three of the coaches there, Hugo, Ben, and Ollie who are all set to start work there. I satthrough the talk, realising very soon that the hour and a half briefing had nothing to do with swimming :-( I found Peter (the guy who hopefully will sort me out a job) and he told me to ring him the next day for more information on a possible job...ANNOYING that meeting was a waste of time! GRRRRR!! I travel home (all on my one i'm so brave) and look up other jobs on the internet...not a very successful or exciting day!!
Friday 1st Feb - Twenty20 Cricket
I wake up to find all the lads are going to the Twenty20 Cricket game and try to get myself a ticket...luckily there are some left however they are a tad expensive $110 (thankyou Cragg family I used the money you gave me for Christmas to fund that) and now I am excited...in a very geeky way!! I learnt about the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) as part of my P.E. A-level so i am excited to actually see something at the stadium...and it does not fail to impress!! The stadium was absolutely huge and it felt like the old days when daddy took me to the F.A. cup finals...everyone in strips, face paint etc...much to Adam's disgrace I lost my reference number for my ticket twice...however it was thankfully not an issue!! So after collecting my tickets Adam and I went to get our faces painted...like 10 year olds we were rather excited!! I got the Aussie flag on one cheek and the stars on the other side of my face (photos will follow promptly) I felt i would fit in better as an Aussie then as an Indian!! haha so after the faces were painted Adam and I rather excited we felt we needed more!! SO off to the merchandise store (like i haven't already spent enough money) and we bought a blow up cricket bat each...4 and SHOT on on oneside and 6 and HOWZAT on the other!! I loved it...we walked into the stadium and met Jamie and Aaron...and OMG inside is even more impressive!! It is actually HUGE!! After a lot of piccies, the game was nearly ready...the most exciting part was that the seats were padded and it was so clean that I could put my hoodie on the floor...not like Stamford Bridge!! The game began and Brett Lee (the fast bowler) bowled at 155kph which the boys nearly fell off their chairs at...so im guessing it was fast...Adam became my 'cricket for dummies' guide throughout...India had a shocker of a game, so it didn't go on very late...but I really enjoyed myself so it was money well spent! I met Harry and Thomas after the match and went to Nando's it was so good...Nandos in Australia...LOVE IT!! We met with all the others in the evening and chilled out in one of the lads room...finally getting to sleep rather late!!!
Saturday
On Sat, i surfaced at about 10am...rather good for me and I slapped on the sun cream...and I made my way to St Kilda Beach...and met Georgie and Livi...the day was so hot...absolute clear skies!! After some severe sweating we made are way into the sea...so refreshing and Livi and I felt rather energetic and we swam all the way ou to the buoy...hoping there were no sharks..luckily we survived. More sunning was in need and I listened to Wham (Auntie Leigh and my Mummy will be proud - brainwashed from many holidays to portugal) Club Tropicana all the way...we also checked out the rather impressive volleyball match occuring...part of me really wanting to join in but they looked very professional and serious! St Kilda festival is also occuring at the moment, so there were some stalls and dancing going on...I plan on visiting the girls and seeing some more of it...as well as the aboriginal stalls. I saw the girls new apartment also...and my place is luxury in comparison...as mosty of you will know I have some issues with smells, dirty sheets and dish cloths...so i dont know how i will cope with hostel life later on in my trip...but i will have to learn although i am very tempted to buy a blanket before I depart!! Aaron and I made our way back home and I went via Safeway (the food shop) and bought some extra ingredients for my evening meal. When I got home i started the food, Chicken and Broccolli in an Olive Oil sauce...I was proud and it tasted good!! Nearly as good as home! I had an early night...after the day before I felt it better to save my dinero for a night when we all have money to go out!!
Sunday
I slept in and when I surfaced I went to see Tom upstairs. We eventually made our way out of the house and the lads went for KFC (yuck) and then we all got a fruit juice...so so so nice!! I had a banana smoothy...yummy!! I tried to persuade the lads to come to Fed Sq with me however, they refused so off I went on my own...I walked down Swanston Street and it was really nice listening to my ipod and wandering on my own.. Iys really busy everywhere so its a nice atmosphere. There are stalls as well so it makes me feel like holiday...I looked into many bikini shops and I fell in love with this one bikini...the slight issue was that the bottoms were rather small!! therfore I felt this an issue!! Even though it was in the sale...$50 but that is like £22 for a designer bikini WOO HOO i couldn't resist!! I then made my way to Federation Square and went to the Melbourne Information Centre and found out exactly what was going on in the city for the next few months...we have made some plans (me and the girls) the zoo, aquarium, Great Ocean Rd, free festivals, theatre and lots more...we are going to go to the museums as well!! SO I have a bit more of a plan now...so I feel more excited about the city now!! In the evening we watched the 'Biggest Loser' and also 'So you think you CAN Dance' they will be the new craze now that the tennis has finished!! And then Billy Elliot...the TV here is really good...I cooked myself dinner again!! Still no news of my job though!! Sadly...but I sent a few emails in the evening so hopefully we shall hear soon...
Monday
I received an Email reply from the coach who coaches Ellie Gandy (for those of you that know swimming she is pretty immense, i got her info from Katherine Wyld who has been so hopeful, thankyou Katherine!!) he has said that he will forward information to the coach involved with the lower squads...but sounds promising!! I had work in the afternoon after a shop and it was good, I had younger children so I enjoyed it more!! In the evening we ordered in a curry...it was GOOD! and filled a very large and rumbling hole! We then watched the biggest loser and the dance show...I then straightened Harry and Tom's hair they are now looking good!! And am currently watching school of rock!!
I will try to upload more pictures...however, it takes so so so long!! Much love xxxxxx
