Nige has just popped out to rent 300 from the video store - phew, another action packed weekend in SA :)
We have had 1 and a half beautiful days here in Cape Town, the sun has been shining and the sky blue. Yesterday we woke up just after 9am :) and finished unpacking - all 36 boxes from the UK have now been opened and their contents have been spread throughout the house. It was like opening our wedding presents all over again.
We then headed over to Willow Bridge - my favourite shopping mall. With this sunning weather it felt time for me to invest in some new sunnies - given my increasing state of blindness I thought I would splash out in a prescription pair. We then headed to Century City and even larger shopping centre to investigate a bike. Nige found me a really nice, light and sporty looking mountain bike. It is now sitting in our back yard with its bigger brother waiting for next weekend when we hope to take in the West coast and the spring flowers.
Finally, with pots and pans we sped home, popping out a few minutes later for groceries. Then Arsenal at 4pm - we have 8 sports channels - which means Arsenal are live every weekend and in the Champions League mid-week - almost as good as our season tickets!
Finally, we joined Doug, Monette and Aunty Sue for Monette's mum's 60th, an all you can eat Chinese - fantastic!
Today we were up early in order to boil some ham for lunch - We've just finished entertaining our first visitors to 11 Bertram Road - Nige's parents and the Willowpolski's (Mark's parents). In order to build up an appetite we first walked to Green Point along the beach path and back - it is so nice to feel the sea breeze and air. We have then eaten, eaten and eaten, so much so I am now very much in need of an afternoon sleep!!!!
Will write soon - Jo'burg for me this week, lots of love Cathxxxx
