Sydney - Week 1

Well thats week one done - and what a week. I have done sooooo much and met so many great people and so far loving Sydney life. So far it has been in the 20s which is a relief from the stupid heat and humidity of HK.

Check out my pictures for a reflection of some of the stuff I have been upto. I was picked up at the airport along with the lovely and amazing (she made me say that) Emmy from Nottingham and taken to my hostel. The G'Day Hostel was shall we say quite a change from my hotel in HK - not least because I am now living with 7 other people including 2 Swedes and 4 Belgians (as well as Emmy). Great bunch of peopel with varied levels of English - just glad no snorers!!!

I have been out and about, seen the famous sites of the Opera House & the Harbour Bridge - sooooo surreal actually standing there looking at them in the flesh.

Taken a Harbour cruise checking out some great sites including Watsons Bay, and overlooking the pacific ocean.

Visited Bondi beach which was soooo cool although I managed to lose my sunglasses in the surf - could of been worse I guess, maybe a leg to a shark!!! However thats 2 things in 2 weeks now - whats next?!?!

Also visited the zoo and seen the kangaroos!!!!

Sydney itself is very large with confusing road crossing procedures - we have taken to just legging it in hope that we make it. Kings Cross has so much 'culture' - its hostel, pub, strip club, pub, strip club. Cant forget the he/she prostitutes outside as well who think we are disgusting - wow we have laughed at them so much.

Night times are hectic in our hostel with drinking games every night but meet great people that way. Don't think I have been to bed yet before half 2 in the morning. Its fun and cheap though as we live on goon - aussie word for the 5 quid boxes of wine - we like to call it Goon time - so many laughs had by all.

Well I am off on a 7 day round trip road trip to Melbourne today with 7 friends in a couple of camper vans so should be great fun.

I really need to update this more often as I keep forgetting what I have actually done!!!
