Okay so Chirripo was awesome!!! FREEEZING cold at night and really hard but awesome! it took us about 9 hours to hike up (with a break for the most delicious pb&j lunch ive ever had!) and then we stayed two nights in an inn up there. It was basically awesome, we had no heat and me and the two other girls in my room (mollie and alex) through the bed mats on the floor and huddled together for warmth both nights we were there. We cooked all our own food (which thank god got brought up for us by porters!) and it was great. My brother came too which was awesome! everyone loved him and it worked out great .. even got to help him on his english and taught him how to play the game bulls***! We got up the first morning at 2:30 after climbing the nine hours up to the shelter the day before to climb the summit which was about 5k up. So worth it though, we didnt make it up in time for sunrise but got to see it along the way... plus just being at the top was AMAZING! The next day we walked down (took us only 5 hrs 25 minutes thank youuu ) and only had one person fall.. and they did it in a wonderful way.. from a log.. three feet up in the air.. into 6 inches of mud. Guess who that was?!?!?! haha O well.. but Then after we had reached the bottom we walked up to what i had been waiting for for the past three days, what had gotten me through every hike... aguas terrmales!!!!! best feeling ever! Then we came back here to san isidro and gorged on pizza... awesomeeee weekend!!! seriously i love all the girls here and everyone did such an awesome job! it was really hard but hey who else can say they walked up 15.5k with a huge backpack and then got up and walked up 5k more the next morning, then 5k down, than 15.5k down the next day than whatever else it was up to the aguas terrmales and back down?!?! yeah we´re pretty hardcore!! haha great weekend. i cant believe i only have two weeks left in my homestay though!! probably wont be back here till we leave them because i wanta spend as much time as i can with my family and community but cant wait to update on how all this pans out!! LOVE YOU!!!!!!! sorry this is kinda rushed not a lot of time here today ! but i cant wait to check this later and update on what happens next!
