We drove and drove and drove today. Left Toolara at 7am and arrived in Yeppoon at 2pm. We stopped once for fuel, three or four times for toilet breaks, once for coffee and a number of times for road work. Unsure how they can put work on the sign when there seemed to be absolutely no work going on. We amused our selves on the drive by singing, Carli got a good video of Bec singing (will post it). Bec probably got a speeding fine but we maintain it was the guy who was tailgating us fault, as he would not get off our ass for a good hour or so. Bec is a machine and can drive really well for extended periods of time.
Yeppoon is awesome. Really pretty. The campsite is lovely, however we got in trouble the moment we walked in the office to get our camping spot. Bec apparently drove into the park way too fast. The speedlimit is 7. We were not sure how to tell when we were going 7. Unfortunately, it's cold. We met up with Jess Gordan, and she took us to one of the local pubs called the Strand. It's seedy, and broken down looking but looks out of the beach and is so peaceful. Loved it,. The cidar was delicious also. We then went to the supermarket and got sausages, mushrooms, mustard, tomato sauce and onion and made the best sausage sizzle in the history of sausage sizzles.
Now we are sitting, having a quiet chat and admiring the stars. Perhaps later we will have a game of cards,
We are pretty happy with the start of the trip and are so super excited about the rest of the trip.
Peace xo
