Today the epic adveture began. First, we had to leave Toowoomba which took a record time of two hours to get from my place to the range. This is due to us having left things we should have done earlier till the last minute (like getting a charger for my video camera, so that we can put up some awesome videos).
Once we left Toowoomba we drove to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. We got an awesome coffe from Raw Energy (we also had a coffee in our fantastic new thermos cups earlier in the day courtesy of the Southern). Raw Energy is an awesome little coffe shop with nice tea and coffee, alot of gluten free stuff.
While we drove we discussed such topics as god, our beliefs, people, pillows and lack thereof (Carli forgot her pillow, Bec laughed). We pondered how long it will take before we no longer have anything to talk about and how it will feel to drive long distances with someone you have absolutely nothing to talk about to. Bec thinks we will always have something to talk about, you just have to look at something and then talk about it.
We then drove some more, we passed some driver's who probably shouldn't be driving not only because of their lack of driving ability but also because they chose to have a playboy sticker on the back of their car. We passed a truck carrying tyres which could only be suited for a giants car (took pictures will post as soon as I can use free internet at a macdonalds). Bec saw some ducks and asked if I would like to run one over, as I had just told her the story of how I once ran over a duck and felt so bad that I pulled over and moved the duck off the road and could't stop crying. I swear it just walked out in front of me.
Road kill count: 32 mostly kangaroos
We arrived at our destination, Toolara forest which is just past Gympie at about 5pm and met up with my dad. We set up our tent and cooked some dinner and are now just about to go to bed (yes, we know its only 8pm but we were being attacked by bloodsucking pests and Bec didn't like getting bitten and I have a fear of bites turning into tropical ulcers). The pests won and we are now retiring. We have a huge day tomorrow, doing some pretty exciting things.
Stay tuned.
