A weekend in Tuscany is a weekend well spent. Early friday morning my ISA group and I headed out on a bus for Florence. about 5 hours later we arrived in Florence only to find a great surprise. The ENIRE cast of Jersy Shore was leaving their hotel just as we were arriving at ours, AND... they happened to be right next store to each other. So, yes, you could say taht snookie and I are now BFFs or at least pin pals. After that I knew I liked Folrence. Next we went on a walking tour of teh city and saw a beautiful cathedral with green, pink, and white marble. We also went and saw Michealangelos David, which was very impressive. Pictures do not do this statue justice, thye just dont. Davie boy is at least 15 feet tall and has giant hands and feet. The detail is simply remarkable, especially when you factor in how it was just carved out of a large marble slab. That night my friends and I went shopping at the open air market, and it is important for me to tell you that Florence is famous for its leather. I, however did not want anything leather, I thought it seemed creepy to wear another animals skin, but then something happened. This salesman pulled me into his shop and had me try on this beautiful leather jacket and then lit my arm on fire. Yes, yes he actually did, but the jacket was fire proof. This proved that I could be both dashing and daring at the same time while in the jacket so I had not choice but to buy it. I mean come on, if a salesman ever lights your arm on fire to get you to buy someting and you come out fine... you have to buy it, what ever it is. Lter that night we wondered around the city until we wondered onto a bridge over the river where an italian band was playing. It was absolutely lovely, and some of teh teenage female groupies were crying... so they must have been pretty popular. The next day we had another walking tour, saw many museums and artwork and then had the day to shop, explore, and enjoy the city. That day we saw a mime, a bacheloret party, a bachalor party (where the groom was dressed up in a wedding gown and riding a bike through the city), two musical parades, a group of women dressed up as devils following a pink nun around, a huge race, and many musical performers. What a city. The next day we got up, hoped on teh bus ad rode to Siana where we had another walking tour of the city and free time for lunch. Sara and I wondered upon a beautiful outlook of the Tuscan countryside and it was breath taking! afew hours later and many euros shorter we boarded teh bus ad returned to Rome. Rome sweet Rome. All in all a very good weekend.
