Today we left Samui, i really didn't want to but felt like we needed too… so off we went! Pick up was at 6.45am to take us to the ferry.
The ferry took about 2 hours to Surat Thani and was full of people still drunk from last nights full moon party (which we did not attend) Once in Surat we had to get a coach to Krabi town which would take 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Once off the ferry though we could not find our coach and everyone kept pointing in different directions, so we paired up with a guy from New Zealand and tried to make sense of the situation. After quite a bit of walking we found the area that we needed to be in but had to wait 1/2 hour…
After a short wait James decided to have a wee which was really inconvenient because as soon as he left i had a little Thai man shouting in my face that i had to board to coach, he did not understand my boyfriend was in the toilet and he would not know where i was if he left.
So i just stood my ground, after what seemed a very long few minutes James returned oblivious to the situation luckily we managed to get on!
They played the Expendables 3 on the journey which was awesome as i've really wanted to watch that for ages, so happy days and it made the journey go super quick too.
Once off at the next destination we were told another 1/2 hour wait for ANOTHER coach, like really?! Why couldn't we just stay on that on?
So off we sat again to wait, 5 minutes later some guys comes up and ushers us into his mini van, takes us to what looks like pier, result! But no.. we just had to book our transfer once we go into Ko Lanta at an office next to the pier and then we got on yet ANOTHER mini bus that would take us to the actual pier we were going to… Me, James & Tom all thought we were going to get on another ferry. But 2 hours later we had reached the very end of Krabi and got on a thing that wasn't a ferry it was more like a moving slap of road that took us 2 minutes over the river to Ko Lanta, yay we've arrived, but no. We then had to get on another moving slab of road to reach the actual Ko Lanta, this journey was unbelievable.
Eventually we reached our guesthouse 'Lanta just come' Very strange name. We arrived at 3.30pm which is what it said on out ticket and couldn't quite believe we had made it in time to be honest!
Excited to get settled we were then told they had over booked and they needed us to stay in one of there other hotels for 1 night, ahhhhh
So the man took us in his tuck tuck 5 minutes down the road and left us until the morning.
To be fair the room was amazing and hugeeee so i couldn't really complain, and plus i asked him for an upgrade on our other room due to the inconvenience so it was a winner really ;)
We headed over the road to Long Beach where we watched the sunset and dined on chicken and rice, neither of us were up for a late one, it had indeed been abit of an adventurous day.
