Hi Everyone- its me again. Just thought I would write a quick blog on what we have been up to recently. Don't know where to start!!!
We moved away from the mice and annoying French people and moved upstairs where we have our own little kitchen and bathroom which is bliss!! Feeling really settled here now which is great. We are right in the heart of St Kilda and there's always something going on- not so good for the money situation. Its easy to live here because Phil gets a lift to work with his buddy Steve and I just jump on the tram outside which only takes 15 mins! So Phil is still working at the factory and I've now got 2 jobs which is tiring but fun. Im working at a call centre helping out with admin and also doing a Marketing job which is giving us lots of decisions to make for the future!! I know the mums aren't happy but we are looking to come home for crimbo for a couple of weeks and then come back out here for our second year J Who would have thought hey?! Theres lots of travel opps with my second job and I went to Tasmania the other day for a meeting which was great. Never thought I would fly by myself!! I have worked at the rugby as well- serving pints alllllll night- made some good friends there but unfortunately they left Melbourne to go to a job in the UK- damn ;-) Maybe it was something I said.
It was Phils birthday last weekend and because it was the queens birthday it was bank holiday over here so he got his birthday off work lucky thing. We had a busy weekend and went out for some drinks on the Sunday which was fun- really missed everyone at home though- it was a bit lonely. He got a full English brekky for his birthday, a cake of course and lots of pressies- lucky boy.
We spend our weekends going to the biggest market in Australia and stocking up on cheap food for the week ahead. We usually go to the cinema and try not to spend too much money which is hard!!! The weekdays are work work work and watching Australias Masterchef which is fun. We did go to Melbourne Museum the other weekend to see the Titanic exhibition which was brilliant! We got a boarding card before we went in and we both survived!!! Thank god. There really is so much to do here. Melbourne is a very laid back place, full of art and culture, its easy to make it feel like home so we are lucky. We don't want to spend all our time here but it's a great place to settle down while we save money for our next adventures. Who knows what we will do next. We are moving on at the end of August to take Phils mum and dad to Sydney which will be sooooooo much fun!! Cant believe they are coming to see us J
So that's about it for now…… so 149 days into our adventure and things are still brilliant. Really missing everyone but look forward to seeing you all when we return for 2/3 weeks. Take care, Laura and Bobski xxxxxxx
